Press Release: Chairman Corey Stewart Opposes Any Amnesty Legislation

January 28, 2013

Prince William County (VA) Board of Supervisors Chairman Corey Stewart, who led the nation’s toughest crackdown on illegal immigration, opposes any amnesty legislation, whether led by Republicans in the United States Senate or the Obama Administration.

Since implementing the crackdown in 2007, Prince William County law enforcement officers have turned over more than 5500 criminal illegal aliens to Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE), and the County’s crime rate has plummeted 48.7%. Stewart said, “Amnesty will add millions of new people to the rolls of Obamacare and will hamper the efforts of Prince William County authorities to deport illegal aliens who have committed crimes.”

Corey Stewart is currently the Chairman At-Large of Prince William County and a candidate for the Republican nomination for Lieutenant Governor of Virginia. Prince William County is located in Northern Virginia and is the Commonwealth’s 2nd largest county with a population of approximately 425,000 residents. Stewart has served since 2006 as Chairman of the Board of County Supervisors.
