Submitted by Zack Streeter on Fri, 09/21/2007 - 02:21.
On Sept. 7, 2007 Chairman Corey Stewart testifies in front of a congressional subcommittee to educate the Congressmen on the problems Prince William County's dealing with on the local level.
He states, "What caused the problem is you... It's the federal government's failure to enforce the law."

Everyone I know is behind
Everyone I know is behind you. Please know that. We might not be able to come to every meeting and be heard but please know that you have support of every fireman, nurse and police officer in Prince William County that I know.
We might not be as loud as people that oppose you but we are here. We are busy working, raising our families and taking care of our community.
Thank you....

Corey,
Congratulations for standing up against illegal immigration.
The impact of illegal immigration is affecting our schools, medical services, and our communities. I have lived in Prince William County for nearly 40 years. I am sick tried of Latinos telling us that they are doing all the jobs Americans do want to do. Before most of the Latinos illegal immigrated to the Washington, DC area, hard working blacks and whites built most of the homes and did most of these working class jobs.
Illegal Immigration
Mr. Stewart,
I congratulate you on combining with Mr.Stirrip (our brainchild county supervisor)to start the process of eliminating illegal alians residing in our county.
To me the key to stop further illegal immigration is not building more fences (that is only a secondary thing to implement), but the primary thing necessary to both stopping further immigration and sending them home is 100% positive ID's combined with 2 strikes your out on business employer checks to ensure that thease alians cannot work.
I just heard that Arizona or New Mexico has told employers that
they would be checking on illegal employees (even though they don't have positive ID's) and that that state estimates that even before the checking has started, a majority of the illegals have left the state.
Why can't we a a county and as a state do the same? I am a Republican and use to appreciate Bush and the Republican Party; but my wife and I are not more independant than Repubican over this issue. bush and the Republican party sold out this country on the illegal alian issue.
We have hundreds of thousands of immigrants that have been waiting to legaaly enter and are more than willing to come into this country and enter it legally and will accept jobs that we need their capbabilties that we need. Excuses that we should be worried about having enough workers is not an answer. All workers should be legally in this country, and entry into this country should be both fair and legal. Reward those who have been legally waiting and that we can validate their backgrounds, and punish those illegal alians who do not abide by the rule of law.
Please write back to me and tell me what you and PWC and the Virginia Repubican party as well as the state are going to do about this issue both before this election and before next years election. My vote is dependant on this issue--it is a national security issue in many, many ways
I have written to my congressman and incouraged him to not just say that he is against illegal immigration, but to lead the charge and to tell me what he intends to do in leading the charge; but for a man who has the capabilities to be a leader he has not lead at all on this issue. He has not even responded to my many requests for details on his near-term intended leadership. As of now our x-governor gets our vote for Senator. He at least lead the charge to stop another highly repugnent issue--the car tax, and what has my congressman Tom Davis led on other than dodging me?
Sincerely,
Bob Woytko

Thank you for fighting for
Thank you for fighting for America. I do not live in your state, but still wanted you to know that if we had more people like you all over the US, we wouldn't have an immigration issue. I'm all for legal immigration, it's the way this country was started, it's the way my relatives came here. You are making a difference, don't back down on doing what's legal and right. Thanks Christy in Idaho

My family is totally behind you and the rest of the board on the illegal immigration. I do believe we need to follow Culpepper and make english our official language. Our county could save millions of dollars if we printed forms in english only. Not only would we be saving money but also forests. I do not understand what people do not understand about illegal. That means it is against the law. Illegals are breaking the law by being here. My family are immigrants. My family came over from Germany. However, they came here legally and they also had to learn english. For everyone who says that illegals pay taxes I say I wish I only had to pay sales tax. I could really help out the economy if I did not have to pay federal or local taxes. I could spend a lot more money and help our economy if I only paid sales tax. Needless to say my family will be voting for the board members who support the immigration bill.
Thank you,
Shelly

Please Mr. Stewart do not quit fighting for AMERICA. I am 100% behind you and will be supportive in any way I can. Please tell me what I can do to help. juliacbrooks@yahoo.com GOD bless you.
Uphold The Law.. This is America
Enforcing the law of the land without mitigation or emotion is the issue here. It is as plain as the intolerance we show to the burglar, the robber, or the thief. The bulwark of freedom rests on the foundation of laws; authored by the residents and equally codified for the good of society, we cannot choose what laws must be enforced, the choice is anarchy or public safety. Please continue to enforce the law and stay the course Mr. Stewart, continue to work for the law abiding and tax paying residents of Prince William County.
Thank you..

Mr. Stewart, I fully support your effort to stop illegals from milking PWC dry. I am fully willing to pay higher taxes, and the money law enforcement needs to prevent the continued influx of illegals in PWC, and this country. I fully support legal immigration in this country, and I welcome them to become English speaking Americans Citizens. Keep up the good work. marcusberry3@comcast.net
