Health Care Information Forum Tomorrow Night @ 7 p.m.

Health Care Information Forum

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009 7-9 PM.

Fairfax County Government Center
Board of Supervisors Auditorium

12000 Government Center Parkway , Fairfax , VA 22030

Doors will open at 6:30PM

Contact: 703-621-7169

The forum will be a panel of experts from non-profit organizations and think tanks. They will be present to talk about proposed legislation and answer questions of interest to citizens on the health care issue only.

In announcing the forum, moderator Keith Fimian said, “Citizens don’t want spin or shouting. They want to learn details about the health care reform being considered in Congress. This non-political forum will be an opportunity for citizens to ask questions about how health care reform will affect them. This is an informational panel to put facts in front of voters – not a sales pitch or rally. Sadly, Congress has done its usual incompetent job of incorporating the American people into its discussions. This forum is a partial remedy to their failings.”

The forum is being held at the Fairfax Government Center in order to make it accessible to as many people as possible. Supervisor Pat Herrity kindly helped arrange access to the Auditorium. Because the event is being held in the government center, no campaign materials, banners or signs are permitted. While capacity is limited, the hope is this gives citizens an opportunity to ask questions and receive answers about this important issue. The panel format is an educational forum with different views on the health care issue, not an argument about politics.

The forum panel will include:

Keith Fimian, moderator

Grace Marie Turner, Galen Institute*

Jim Capretta, Ethics and Public Policy Center *

Thomas Miller, American Enterprise Institute*

* Institutions for identification purposes only.
